For a lot of people, redecorating is a fun and therapeutic experience that provides a sense of achievement and rejuvenation. Simply changing the layout of a room or adding a rug or throw can be enough to make you and your space feel refreshed.
In the current era, creating a comfortable and positive space at home is more important than ever. We are spending more time at home, and we need to maximise the positive impacts our homes can have on us.
Interior spaces have a direct and profound impact on our health and happiness, not only through the facilitation of activities and interactions that actively make you happy, but also through subtle ambient environments that subconsciously benefit your health and mood. Comfortable furniture, soft fabrics, stimulating finishes and relaxing lighting are all elements that can be used to easily enhance your experience at home.
Soft fabrics and relaxing lighting can be used to easily enhance your experience at home.
Just like making your bed in the morning, keeping your interior spaces fresh and organised can have a significant impact on your mood and productivity. I don’t know about you but I am more likely to keep my space immaculate if I am proud of it and want to show it off.
Changing up your interior doesn’t need to be a long, drawn out process (you don’t have to renovate your house every six months, don’t worry) - you simply need to facilitate a space that can be altered easily and effectively. The key to creating a changeable space is to keep the canvas as minimalist as possible - avoid creating an overstimulating space that can’t be changed easily or noticeably. This doesn’t mean that you can’t have a colorful or textural space, just consider keeping your space monochrome with an accent colour that can be changed.
Move things around, open your windows more, even refresh the colour and pattern of your towels and linens occasionally. You’ll be amazed at just how much a refreshed and organised home will lift your mood!
Keeping a space monotone will let you change things up with ease.
